How our checks map to AS 4811:2022

✓ Supports this clause
✓✓ Goes beyond what the clause asks
Clause 2.2

Legislation and regulation

✓✓

How we support it

We are an ACIC-accredited body for Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks (NCCHCs), and we handle all personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Why it goes further: accreditation binds us to the ACIC’s contractual requirements for identity, consent, data storage and audit, a stricter regime than the standard alone. We are audited against it.
Clause 2.3

Communication

✓

How we support it

Candidates give informed consent before any check starts, receive status updates while a check is in progress, and get an SMS and email the moment their result is ready.

Clause 2.4

Privacy and confidentiality

✓✓

How we support it

Application and result data is stored in Australia, encrypted in transit and at rest, with an extra layer of encryption for identifiers and results.

Why it goes further: police check results are removed from our system 3 months after they’re issued, and identity verification data is destroyed within 12 months. Results are also secured on our private blockchain.
Clauses 2.7 and 2.8.3

Risk-based screening by role

✓

How we support it

Build a check bundle for each role, so every candidate for that role gets exactly the checks its risk profile and position description require.

Clause 2.8.5.3

Identity

✓✓

How we support it

Identity is verified to the ACIC’s requirements: three identity documents across the commencement, primary and secondary categories, checked against government records through the Document Verification Service (DVS).

Why it goes further: we add biometric face matching against the candidate’s photo ID, plus automated validation of every application against its documents before it’s submitted.
Clause 2.8.5.4

Integrity

✓✓

How we support it

Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks are submitted directly to the ACIC’s National Police Checking Service.

Why it goes further: about 80% of checks are returned in 1–3 minutes, not days. Every result carries a certificate employers can verify online, so an altered or fake certificate is caught instantly.
Clause 2.8.5.5

Credentials

✓

How we support it

Qualifications are verified directly with the issuing institution, not taken from a certificate at face value.

Clause 2.8.6

Fair notification and disputes

✓✓

How we support it

Results go to the candidate first, and every certificate carries the option to raise a dispute.

Why it goes further: where a result discloses court outcomes, the candidate has 7 days to review it and dispute it before it’s released to the employer. Natural justice is built into the process, not left to chance.
Clause 2.8.8

Screening lifecycle

✓✓

How we support it

Working with Children Checks and NDIS Worker Screening Checks are monitored for business customers throughout employment.

Why it goes further: monitoring runs every week, with an alert as soon as a clearance changes status. Screening doesn’t stop on day one.
Applicants under 18

Valid consent

✓

How we support it

Our minimum applicant age is 16, and a parent or guardian must consent for every 16–17 year old.

Section 3

Personnel employed in screening

✓✓

How we support it

The people who run your checks are screened themselves.

Why it goes further: our accredited officers are cleared by the ACIC and continuously monitored for as long as they hold accreditation, not checked once and forgotten.
