Identification Requirements for a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check #
When completing a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) — also referred to as an Australian National Police Check — you must provide three forms of identification.
At least two of these should be your passport and driver licence, as they are the most reliable primary documents for confirming both your identity and photo evidence.
Accepted Identity Combination for your Police Checks #
To meet ACIC’s proof-of-identity requirements, your three documents must include:
- One primary ID (e.g. Australian or foreign passport)
- One secondary ID (e.g. driver licence, ImmiCard, or government-issued photo ID)
- One supporting document (e.g. Medicare card, utility bill, bank statement, or student ID)
⚠️ Important:
- The same document cannot be used twice across different categories.
- All documents must be valid, legible, and in English (or translated by a NAATI-accredited translator).
- Digital scans or photos are accepted if they are clear and unaltered.
