Is your role eligible for the volunteer rate?

The discounted $21 rate is reserved for genuine unpaid volunteering — not every unpaid role qualifies, so check the criteria below first.

You’re eligible for a volunteer check if you:

Hold the position or perform the role voluntarily for the common good
Are not an employee or contractor, and receive no salary or entitlements beyond reimbursed out-of-pocket expenses
Are a student undertaking a compulsory unpaid vocational placement as part of an Australian educational institution’s training course

Not eligible for the volunteer rate:

Tenancy (rental) applications
Social media platform participation
