The underlying NCCHC certificate is identical regardless of who you apply through.

However, a portion of all applications are referred for manual review by police agencies, which can take up to 15 business days regardless of provider. No accredited body can speed up manual review — it is handled directly by state and territory police and the ACIC. Government channels (AFP, state police) typically take 5–10 business days for routine checks.

Online & mobile experience

All major commercial providers offer online applications with digital identity verification. The best are fully mobile-friendly, letting applicants complete the entire check — including ID upload and identity verification — from a smartphone without installing an app. Government channels accept online applications but may require postal submission for fingerprint-inclusive checks and offer more limited mobile support.

Business & employer portals
