DEMIRS Police Check
Worker Checks is an accredited provider of Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS).
Important Information:
To be accepted, the certificate must specify “Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety licensing purposes” as the Issuing Authority for the check.
- Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety licensing purposes must be included on your Police Check Certificate or it will not be accepted. You will be required to obtain another check at your own cost.
Please ensure you add the following to the Issuing Authority when competing your application as follows:

- Commissioner for Consumer Protection
- Director of Energy Safety
- Electrical Licensing Board
- Plumbers Licensing Board
- Building Services Board
Most occupational licensing applications must be accompanied by an Australian police check. For further detail of when a police check is required refer to the relevant application form.
